LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Google is developing a new “Undo” button for its Android keyboard, GBoard, which will make typing easier for users with the ability to restore lost text.
An ‘Undo’ button will reportedly be added to GBoard that functions similarly to desktop operating systems.
Although the feature is presently being tested and is accessible in the most recent GBoard beta version, it is still unknown when it will be made available to the general public.
Developer rkbdi claims (as shared by Akos Paha) that the feature is active in the new GBoard beta but has been disabled.

This information was first published by 9to5Google. GBoard’s overflow buttons in Settings are rumored to contain the feature.
However, since Google has made it possible for users to choose what they want to view in this overflow menu, it can be moved up a level higher and made marginally simpler to access.
It’s possible that the final version will look entirely different and be more approachable and user-friendly.
According to reports, users will be able to perform a “Control+Z” or “Command+Z” operation on the virtual keyboard, similar to those seen on other desktop operating systems.
This function essentially undoes actions and can restore previously entered text that was accidentally deleted.
The same was demonstrated in the video demo, where the user simply selected the “Undo” option from the overflow menu to retrieve recently entered but deleted text.

The search engine giant is purportedly extending this feature systemwide, so it will essentially function pretty much anyplace you can text using GBoard, according to 9to5Google.
9to5Google reports that the search engine giant is supposedly implementing this feature systemwide, meaning it will essentially function pretty much anyplace you can text using GBoard.
If one is using the GBoard app as their main keyboard, then this may come through a text box in the search bar or from a third-party app as well.
The GBoard’s ‘Undo’ button is brand-new, but the undo function is not. In most of its Workspace products, including its note-taking software Keep, Google has been providing undo and redo options.
Google unveiled a brand-new, reversible toolbar earlier this year. Users can do this by simply dragging and dropping the functions they use the most from the overflow menu onto the toolbar, which displays above the keyboard, to customize it to their needs.
Additionally, if it wasn’t needed, users may remove the voice typing microphone button from the toolbar thanks to the upgrade.
