ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Four suspected kidnappers have been reportedly arrested by the Police Command in Kano State.
Daily Post reports that the suspects kidnapped a 70-year-old businessman, Alhaji Ali Falaka, in Bunkure LGA and demanded a N20m ransom.
The leader of the suspects, Isiya Haruna (22), speaking when they were paraded by the police, explained that it was their first time.
He disclosed that they formed a team with another group of four people to commit the offence.
Haruna said they were unable to get the N20m they demanded as ransom before they were arrested while the victim was rescued.

He further explained: “In my team, we are four in number. We met with another team of four and attacked the residence, and whisked away the victim.
“We hid inside rocks in Bunkure near one village called Gindin Dutse.”
According to him, before they could go anywhere in their illicit act, they started regretting it, as the other team escaped, while four of them were all arrested.
Muhammed Usaini Gumel, the State’s Commissioner of Police, explained that the suspects were arrested following a sustained follow-up coupled with intelligence-led operations.
