LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Edouard Mendy has officially signed a three-year contract with Saudi club Al-Ahli after leaving Chelsea.
As they continue to cut their roster this summer, Chelsea has officially announced the sale of the goalie.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the goalkeeper has a contract that runs until 2026, and the deal could be valued up to £17 million ($21.5 million).
Mendy joined the Blues in 2020 and departs with a Champions League champion’s medal after the team’s victory in 2021.

Several players are being sought after by Chelsea this summer for transfer to Saudi Arabia.
Kalidou Koulibaly transferred to Al-Hilal, whilst N’Golo Kante was permitted to depart and join Al-Ittihad.
Hakim Ziyech may soon follow by transferring to Al-Nassr once Mendy, the third player, formally announces his departure.
Chelsea, who wants to reduce the number of players in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad, will be hoping that Ziyech completes his move to Saudi Arabia as well.
