LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Nigerian Air Force has commenced investigation into the death of one of its female personnel identified as Master Warrant Officer George.
Recall that voiceofnaija.ng reported that, George, who was serving at the 651 Base Services Group, said to have committed suicide, was found dead in her apartment on Sunday.
Her remains have reportedly been evacuated to the 661 Nigerian Air Force Hospital, Lagos, while investigation continued.
According to a signal sighted by journalists, “Master Warrant Officer George, female personnel of the Nigerian Air Force serving at 651 Base Services Group, resident at Block T5 Flat 8 in Sam Ethnan Air Force Base, Ikeja reported to have committed suicide inside her room at about 1400hrs on 10 23 June.

“Efforts are ongoing by 3 Air Provost to evacuate her to 661NAFH, while further investigation will continue.”
A source in the service who pleaded anonymity, however, said the lady had been battling depression lately.
“What we heard was that the lady in question had been battling depression recently. It was quite unfortunate that she ended up killing herself,” the source said.
When contacted, the spokesperson for the Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ayodele Famuyiwa, said, “The story is true. It happened yesterday (Saturday), and her body has been moved to the morgue.
“The Base Commander has also set up a board of inquiry to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.”
