Award-winning Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, aka Davido, found himself in a scuffle with an unruly ‘fan’ during his highly-anticipated Timeless concert at Lagos’ Tafawa Balewa Square.
The incident occurred on 23 April, 2023, as Davido performed his latest album, ‘Timeless’, for the first time in Nigeria at the renowned venue, known for accommodating over 50,000 fans.
As Davido dazzled the audience with his performance, a fan unexpectedly stormed the stage and approached him in a menacing manner.
However, the singer stood his ground holding a tight fist. But for the swift intervention of the security personnel, the stage intruder may have gone home with a black eye.
The young man who was visibly pointing at Davido while being bundled off the stage was later tossed back into the crowd.
The viral video of the altercation has caused a buzz on social media, with many applauding Davido’s ability to defend himself and handle the situation with composure, while others speculate on the motive behind the fan’s actions.
A tweep @omezuo1 shared a video of the incident alongside a caption: “Nothing dey happen for VIP o, davido nearly punched the intruder. My 001 was on guard. Na man u be @davido #TimelessConcert”
He also shared another video of another fan being thrown away like a football.
“Another mugu was thrown away like a football😂🤣.”
However, the incidents didn’t deter the fans from having fun.
