LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- A Magistrate’s Court siting in Ogba, Lagos, has arraigned one Adeboye Atanda for reckless driving, resulting in the death of a 12-year-old boy in Oshodi area of the State.

The defendant was brought before Magistrate A. Alejo on 18 April facing a one count charge.

The charge read: “That you, Adeboye Atanda Monsuru “M” on 10th day of April, 2023 at about 100hrs along Airport road, Oshodi, Lagos, in the Ogba Magistrate District, being a driver of a grey Lexus SUV with Registration No. LSD 760 DJ drove same vehicle in a reckless, dangerous manner and caused the death of a male child aged about 12years old and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 20 of the traffic law of Lagos State, 2018.”

Defense counsel, Mrs. Christiana Folahanmi, prayed the court to put the defendant up for bail as the defendant is said to be suffering from serious chest pain as a result of the accident.

Magistrate Alejo countered the counsel’s claim, noting that for every correctional facility, there is a health center to cater for the medical needs of inmates.
