IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – The Nigerian social media space is currently buzzing with news of Nigerian model, Adeola Ariyo, who reportedly ‘stole’ her South Africa-based friend’s lover.
The aggrieved woman named Munira shared clips showing how close she and Adeola Ariyo were and how she introduced her friend to her boyfriend.
Taking to her Instagram stories, Munira detailed what went down between herself, her man and Adeola.
In one photo of Munira with her now ex-boyfriend dated 15 September, 2020, she explained that it was the day after she introduced her ‘friend’ to her baby daddy who she was in a relationship with then.
Munira also shared another photo from the same day of herself with Adeola.
She recounted how the media personality had gone to lunch with them and could not stop calling them her favourite couple.
Also, on her IG story, Munira shared a video from when she was heavily pregnant for her man at their baby shower.
In the video, she was seen dancing with Adeola at the event. According to her, the so-called friend had flown down from Cape Town to surprise them at their baby shower. Munira further explained that Adeola and her man were already dating at the time, unknown to her.
To prove they went way back, Munira shared another video from 23 December, 2019, of herself with Adeola goofing around in Capetown as they hung out together.
In a subsequent post, she shared a video of herself, Adeola, and her man hanging out together.
According to her, the saddest thing about betrayal is that it comes from friends and loved ones.
She added that Adeola was the kind of friend who wanted what her friend had, and it wasn’t the first time she was showing the signs.
Adeola Ariyo is a Nigerian born model who became Elizabeth Arden’s first ever African Ambassador in 2014.
She began her modelling career at the age of 13 after being scouted for and participating in the London Fashion Week.
Adeola is sometimes referred to as a Nigerian-Ghanaian because of her mixed heritage. She is born to a Ghanaian mother and Nigerian father.
The post has sparked reactions in social media with many Nigerians dragging the model over the accusation.
A netizen, Eric John said: “Lol “snatched her man” is he a non living commodity without a mind? He knows what he is doing.I am not justifying his action,but even if twas the baby mama who did same, Ild say you guys are just baby daddy/mamas to each other, so it’s an open field.”
Another user said: “Why is the arrow always pointed at the woman. Shabi the man is the one who goes to what he wants or likes. While some ladies will uphold loyalty and not mess with a friend’s ex it’s not a sin.
“If he is not with your friend he will be with someone else. The koko or the koko is that he nor want you again. If he did even bring naked Beyonce to your house he won’t leave you, if na you he want. Men can be fucking 10 other women and still be in love in you.

Another social media user, on his part, wrote: “The so called friend and the baby daddy didn’t try sha. Even if they were no longer dating, they both owed it to her to let her know when they started catching feelings. Friendship is weird these days, not about shared values but silly things like gossip and social media”
