Ghanaian player Christian Atsu has been found dead under a rubble in Turkey after the earthquake that rocked the country some weeks ago.
Reports about his whereabouts had rented the social media after the incident which sent confusion to different quarters of football followers and fans.
There were also reports that he had been found alive and taken to the hospital for treatments from injuries sustained in the quake.
However, reports on Saturday confirmed that the player was not able to make it out of the incident and was confirmed dead.
His agent, Nana Sechere’s tweets on Saturday confirmed that the player could not make it out of the rubble.
He wrote: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to announce to all well wishers that sadly Christian Atsu’s body was recovered this morning My deepest condolences go to his family and loved ones. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their prayers and support.
“I ask that whilst we make the necessary arrangements, that everyone would please respect the privacy of the family during this very difficult time.”
