ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Chief Ray Nnaji, former National Auditor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has accused ex-Governor of Enugu State, Chimaroke Nnamani, of anti-party activities in the State.

Chief Nnaji claimed that the act is affecting presidential campaigns of the PDP in the state.
Yesterday

Nnaji told The Guardian yesterday, that Nnamani is allegedly supporting and campaigning for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, instead of Atiku Abubakar of the PDP.

He insisted also that Nnamani, the Senator representing Enugu East Senatorial zone, who is also the senatorial candidate of the party in the 2023 general elections, is setting a bad precedence.

However, Nnaji, blamed the development on the Governor of the state, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, who according to him, was “encouraging anti-party in the state by his body language”.

He vowed to activate the party’s machinery against Nnamani to serve as deterrent to others, adding that silence of the PDP on the development is not a sign of weakness.

He said that the former Governor is behaving in a manner not expected of someone who had benefited from the party.

His words: “It is unfortunate that the leadership of the party in the state allowed these things to be happening. Ordinarily, it should have called those doing these things to order.

“But I must tell you that I feel so bad, and now apologetic of what I said when Nnamani appeared on the presidential council list of the APC. I thought it was a mistake until I started seeing other things coming out from him to show that he may have lobbied to be part of the council.

“Campaigning for another party, when you are a candidate of a different party, is a grave anti-party activity. As a governor, he would not have allowed such thing to happen.

“As a candidate and sitting senator of the PDP in the Senate, it is bad for him to start campaigning for another party’s candidate.

“Honestly, I am looking into the books to know where I am going to place it, because he cannot be a senator carrying the ticket of the PDP, and still campaigning for another party.”
