Calabar Carnival: Peter Obi Commiserates With Families Of Victims, State Govt

ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP), presidential candidate, has commiserated with the Cross River State government and families of victims over the demise of people killed at the Calabar Carnival.

Not less than 20 persons were confirmed injured, with 3 recorded deaths from the vehicle accident in which a car lost control and swerved into unsuspecting crowd at the Carnival.

Reacting, the former Anambra State Governor in a tweet via his official Twitter account on Wednesday, expressed sadness over the incident.

He wished quick recovery to those who were injured.

He wrote: “The unfortunate incident at the annual Calabar Carnival is a huge loss to the immediate and extended families of the victims, the government and people of Cross River State and Nigerians in general. I am saddened by the loss of lives, many injuries recorded.

“I sincerely commiserate with the families who lost their loved ones in this ugly incident, and pray for the quick recovery of the injured. May God grant eternal rest to the dead. -PO”
