IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – The remains of Bamise Ayanwola, who was reportedly killed by a Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) driver in Lagos State, has been buried amid tears on Friday, 16 December, 2022.
She was buried at Atan Cemetery, in Yaba area of Lagos State.
A Service of Songs was held in Deeper Life Church on Wednesday, 14 December, 2022.
Bamise was reported to have gone missing on Saturday, 26 February, 2022, after boarding a BRT bus from Chevron Bus Stop, Lekki, to Oshodi around 7 pm.
When she felt uncomfortable in the vehicle due to the conduct of the driver, Bamise reportedly sent distress messages to her friends.
She was said to have sent the vehicle details to them in case anything happened to her and also asked them to pray for her.
In a video that circulated on social media, Bamise’s mother identified the number plate of the BRT bus her daughter boarded among the buses parked at one of the BRT stations in the state.
The old woman cried out and called on the state government to help find her daughter.
However, the 22-year-old lady was found dead with her body parts allegedly missing.
The BRT driver, Andrew Ominnikoron was arraigned on a four-count charge bordering on conspiracy, murder and rape.
The case is still in court, nine months after the trial began.
However, the body of the 22-year-old fashion designer has been laid to rest on Friday, 16 December, 2022, with justice yet to be served.
