IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Some Nigerians have expressed their dissatisfaction over reports of how much YBNL music star, Asake is asking VIPs to pay for his forthcoming concert.
The Nigerian rave of the moment whose real name is Ahmed Ololade, is currently trending on Twitter after it was revealed that his VIP ticket costs 70,000naira.
The concert which is scheduled to hold on 1 December, 2022, has prices for tables and VIP only. No regular tickets.
Tickets for tables will sell for between three million naira to 10 million naira while the VIP tickets, where the holders will stand throughout the show, will be available for N70, 000 only.
The price range has elicited reactions from Nigerians with many of the opinion that the price is outrageous.
A tweep, Omotara Akanni who seems to be enraged by the development wrote: “We helped Asake pay his debts, now he want us to run into debt 😭😭😭 Very ungrateful boi.
In another tweet, she said: “Jokes apart, if Asake thinks I’m buying a ticket of 70k just to stand and listen to mirowaved songs, he’s right and I’ll even sacrifice all my followers for it.🤭”
Jeffrey who seemed displeased with the price said: “Una dey over hype this guy’s na, even wizkid, davido and burna never try this nonsense. Pay 70k go see am never ready for life.”
@ifaorumhe tweeted: “Paying 70k to see an upcoming artist… una never ready, the same song u guys have listening to on radio 📻 is the same songs he will still sing for una!!!”
@kusssman who also responded, wrote: “70k for Asake standing tickets. I go carry one speaker go house” while another tweep, @bobo_gboye said: “Before Asake use me, I go use my sense.”
Malik, another Twitter user, said: “70k for VIP wey I go still stand? Na now I understand wetin Asake mean by “Prepare yourself” 😭😭”
Popular Twitter commentator, @danielregha, said the ticket price is not the problem but fans who overrate the up-and-coming artistes.
He wrote: “Asake charging N70k for his standing ticket isn’t the problem, u fans are. Y’all ¤verrate these artistes, especially the upcomers; On a real Nigerian artistes should be giving Nigerians a free concert every December, or at least charge very low as a way of thanking their fans.”
