IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Yoruba actress, Bose Akinola, has emerged governor of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Oyo State chapter.
Her colleague, Rukayat Lawal, made the announcement via her Instagram account on Thursday.
She shared a video celebrating Akinola’s victory at the election venue.
She wrote: “Alhamdulilahi Alhamdulilahi Alhamdulilahi robli Al amin nd she won💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃 congratulations Amoke.”
Akinola, who won the election for a term of four years with 113 votes, would be taking over from actress Rose Odika, who was in power for eight years.
Her colleagues including Femi Adebayo, Fausat Balogun and Bimpe Akintunde took to her comment section to rejoice with her.
Femi Adebayo wrote: “Congratulations” just as Bimpe Akintunde wrote: “Congratulations, Amoke d governor.”
Also, Fausat Balogun wrote: “Congratulations, my darling Amokeade” while Aminatu Papapa wrote: “Congratulations.”
Akinola is a two-time Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) nominee.
The Oyo-based actress has produced movies such as Loogun Ofe, Idajo Owo, Anike Kolope and Feranmi.
She is married with four children.
