The Katsina State Police Command have announced the release of the twenty-one teenagers kidnapped by terrorists in Faskari Local Government Area of the State.
The children, aged between 16 and 21 years, were kidnapped while working on a farm at Kamfanin Mai Lafia village last Sunday afternoon at about 12:30 pm.
The spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP Gambo Isah confirmed their release in a statement on Saturday, November 5, but did not state whether ransom was paid or not.
He said the victims comprising 17 girls and four boys have since been reunited with their respective families as investigations continue.
“It is with great joy that I announce the release of all the 21 abducted workers that were kidnapped while working in a farmland at Kamfanin Mai Lafiya village, Faskari LGA of Katsina state.
“They have been reunited with their families. Investigation is ongoing please,” the statement read.
This news will be seen as a welcome development to the families and friends of the youngsters after being initially kidnapped.
