ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- As the February 2023 general elections gathers momentum, the Labour Party (LP) says it is in talks with the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) Rabiu Kwankwaso and other party stakeholders for possible alliance.

The Director-General of the Labour Party (LP) Presidential Campaign Council Doyin Okupe, disclosed this on Friday when he featured on Channels TV program.

Recall that the LP presidential flagbearer, Mr Peter Obi and Kwankwaso had earlier in the year moved for alliance but both parties failed to reach workable agreement.

However, Okupe said that the party is yet to give up on forming an alliance with Kwankwaso and his team who are polling the crowd in Kano State.

He said, “As a party, at our own campaign level, we are talking to the SDP; we are talking to even Kwankwaso and his team again. We are talking to PRP and ADC.

“I believe and I trust that God will help us that between now and December, we would bring together that alignment politically in the country and the country would be better for it.”
