IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has been discharged and acquitted by the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja.
The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory on Thursday upheld the appeal of the detained leader and freed him.
Kanu’s lawyer and human rights activist, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, confirmed this on his Facebook page on Thursday.
“Appeal allowed, Oyendu Mazi Nnamdi KANU, discharged and acquitted. We have won!” he wrote.
Kanu had in his appeal dated 29 April, and marked CA/ABJ/CR/625/2022, applied to be discharged and acquitted.
The IPOB Leader was first arraigned on 23 December, 2015 and was later granted bail on 25 April, 2017.

And yet again, the leaders that imposed themselves on us have rubbed it in our faces again that the law does not matter, that we do not matter. All of this just because February 2023 election is around the corner? All of this just because the ruling party wants to win votes in the south east come February?
It only shows that the FG never had a case against Kanu in the first place.
I hope my brothers in the south east will remember that IPOB isn’t the only reason they lost faith in this government (and the ruling party).
I am expecting a backtrack on Sunday Igboho’s case.
Meanwhile, we must get ready to see the same thing play out in respect of already identified bandits too.
May God bless us all.
