IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The outfit of Kashim Shettima, the vice-presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to the 2022 Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) conference has inspired a viral challenge on social media.

The event, held on Monday, was graced by the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, the Labour Party, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, respectively.

Kashim Shettima, who represented the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Bola Tinubu, was dressed in a suit and tie, accompanied by a pair of gym shoes.

His dressing stirred reactions from social media users on Monday.

In the wake of the reactions trailing the former governor’s outfit choice, some users — believed to be supporters of the APC — took to Twitter on Tuesday, to initiate the #ShettimaChallenge to justify his fashion sense.

Joining the challenge, Festus Keyamo, minister of state for labour and employment, donned a similar outfit to his office.

“Now, since they think the issues of Nigeria are three buttons, a pair of sneakers and a long tie, let’s help make them the real issues!” he wrote.

Some other users also joined the challenge to taunt the vice-presidential candidate.

Reno Omokri, ex-aide to Goodluck Jonathan, the former president, also joined the challenge.

“My own Shettima moment (sans the red tie!) Suit with sports shoes!

Hit or miss?” he wrote.
