IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has listed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s Atiku Abubakar; All Progressives Congress (APC)’s Bola Tinubu, Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), and others as presidential candidates for next year’s poll. This is contained in a circular released by the electoral body on Tuesday. The INEC circular also included the candidates’ state of origin, age, and other details. It also listed their running mates as well as their qualifications.

The AAC, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Adeyeye Olorunfemi, said Obi would privatise the commanding heights of the economy, saying this was against the principles of the Labour Party and the Nigerian Labour Congress, asking the organised labour not to back such position. IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nigeria’s total public debt stock has risen from N41.60trillion (100.07 billion dollars) in March to N42.84trillion (103.31 billion dollars) in June. The Debt Management Office (DMO), led by Patience Oniha, provided the figure in a statement on Tuesday. The total debt represents the domestic and external debt stocks of the Federal Government, the 36 State Governments and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- A Federal High Court in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital, has sacked the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in the state, Emmanuel Bwacha. Bwacha’s sacking comes after a petition by one of the aspirants, David Sabo Kente. Relying on the evidence before the court that no governorship primary was held in Taraba, Justice Simon Amobeda ordered a fresh primary within 14 days. An outbreak of Ebola has been declared in Uganda after health authorities confirmed a case of the relatively rare Sudan strain, the health ministry and World Health Organization (WHO) said on Tuesday. A 24-year-old man in Uganda’s central Mubende district showed symptoms and later died. “We want to inform the country that we have an outbreak of Ebola which we confirmed yesterday,” Diana Atwine, the health ministry’s permanent secretary, told a news conference. IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE Of NAIJA)- The Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) says it plans to generate over N500 billion as revenue from the auctioning of two 5G spectrums in 2023. Prof. Umar Danbatta, the Executive Vice-Chairman, NCC, said this at an interactive meeting on 2023-2025 MTEF-FSP, organised by the Senate Committee on Finance on Monday in Abuja. Danbatta said that the commission had already initiated the bidding process for auctioning of the spectrums.
