LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arraigned one Michael Anan Onimisi for allegedly developing a software code-named: “Bee-Leaf” and “Real-Eve” to defraud First City Monument Bank Plc, the sum of N17,785,010.75. The suspect, brought before Justice R.M Aikawa of the Federal High Court, sitting in Kaduna, was accused of developing the software to hack into the security measures of the bank to defraud it. LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a credit officer of a microfinance bank, Esther Hamidu, after allegedly fleeing with customers’ contributions totaling N1.97m. Hamidu reportedly absconded with the daily contribution of the bank’s customers which spanned between March and December 2023, Punch reports. A branch manager of the bank in Abeokuta, who discovered that the contribution had not been remitted, reported the matter to the Police. LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Gunmen suspected to be bandits have killed nine members of a local vigilante group, popularly known as Yan Ba Beli, in Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State. The Yan Ba Beli members were reportedly killed in the forest of Gamji village while searching for bandits who have been terrorizing communities in the said LGA, killing and kidnapping innocent people for ransom. LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Lagos State Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court in Ikeja has convicted and sentenced an apprentice, Godwin Ogboniya, to life imprisonment for sexually assaulting his employer’s nine-year-old daughter. Delivering judgment on Monday, Justice Abiola Soladoye handed down the verdict after she found Ogboniya guilty of the one-count charge of sexual assault by penetration brought against him by the State Government.
