The Federal Government of Nigeria has stated reasons for paying members of the Academic Staff Union of Nigeria (ASUU) half of their salary in October. According to the federal government, lecturers were paid half salary based on the number of days they worked in October. The federal government dismissed the allegation of selective treatment and half salary payment to the union members.
