The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) will reportedly commence the airlifting of Nigerian evacuees from Egypt today as ordered by the Federal Government. Ambassador Janet Olisa of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed that the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), Air Peace and other Airlines have received clearance to fly to Egypt. The NAF C-130H is scheduled to leave Abuja on 28 April, 2023 to commence the airlifting of the evacuees. Over 5,500 Nigerians schooling in war-torn Sudan have been evacuated from from the troubled country, according to the Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa. Dabiri-Erewa made the disclosure at the weekly ministerial briefing organised by the Presidential Communications Team, on Thursday in Abuja. She said the 5,500 students are among the first batches of Nigerian citizens being evacuated. The unending feud between Kuteb farmers and herders in Taraba State, have resulted in the killing of a soldier and 24 others in Ussa and Takum local government areas of the State. Goods worth billions of naira have been destroyed in a fire outbreak at ‘Yan Katako’ Market in Sabon Gari, Zaria, Kaduna State.
