LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers have arrested two women for drugging a man with a stupefying substance leading to his death in Kisii county, Kenya.
According to reports, the suspects, Grace Njeri and Evelyne Esendi aged 29 and 32 respectively, are alleged to have booked a room at Village Inn guest house in Mwea East on 31 July, and lured their victim Daniel Gathege Maira to their trap.
DCI in a statement earlier today, said the deceased, Francis Kariuki, had met the suspects at a popular entertainment spot in Kisii town on 23 July.
The deceased was found unconscious in his house on the said date, after the duo allegedly drugged him and stole his belongings.

“According to witnesses, the trio had imbibed rounds of cold swallows as they shook leg to the infectious tunes from the artist cum policeman, who had created a storm in the land of matoke that night,” the statement read.
“And as the rounds of frothy waters quadrupled on their table and took a toll on the victim’s faculties, he leaped to his place of abode in Nyanchwa estate with the two babes in tow, to crown the night in style. That was the last time that the deceased was seen alive.
“Among the items recovered from the suspects were an assortment of electronic gadgets belonging to the deceased including a laptop, mobile phone and a flash disk. The suspects are facing murder charges,” the statement added.
According to the statement, the suspects were arraigned before Senior Principal Magistrate, Christine Ogweno on 2 August.
Following the arraignment, the investigation officer was granted custodial orders to detain the suspects Nyanchwa Police station for 14 days to allow proper investigation into the matter including toxicology tests, the statement added.
