LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Ben Foster is ecstatic to play Chelsea and Manchester United in the preseason with Wrexham.
Veteran goalkeeper Foster signed a one-year contract extension with the team after helping Wrexham win the National League championship.
As part of Wrexham’s preseason tour of the US, he is now delighted to take on Premier League heavyweights Chelsea and Manchester United.
Speaking to theĀ BBC, Foster said: “Some of my mates who don’t really follow football are like ‘What are you going to America for?’ I say, ‘We are playing some pre-season games.’ They are like, ‘Who you playing out there?’

“Man United, Galaxy and Chelsea, and they’re like ‘What, but you’re Wrexham.’ I know, but this is where this club is at the minute, and it sounds mad, but it doesn’t surprise, does it? It doesn’t surprise that we are playing these sorts of teams.
“That’s the way this club is going nowadays and it’s brilliant to see and long may it continue as well.”
Following games against LA Galaxy II on 22 July and Manchester United on 25 July, Phil Parkinson’s team will play Chelsea in their opening encounter of the tour.
The team plays Philadelphia Union on 28 July in their final game of the tour.
