ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- President Bola Tinubu has revealed details of his discussion with the Oil Marketers over the recent fuel subsidy removal.
The President, on Wednesday, had a meeting with representatives of major oil marketers’ associations at Aso Rock Villa in Abuja, on the way forwards towards constant supply of fuel products in the country.
The oil marketers were led by Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State.
President Tinubuās meeting with the oil marketers comes amid the controversy and protests trailing the removal of subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit known as petrol.
Tinubu who revealed his discussion on this Twitter page on Thursday afternoon, said that his administration is committed to transparent oil market.

He wrote: “At a meeting yesterday with representatives of major oil marketers’ associations, in the course of the discussions, I emphasized my administrationās total commitment to a competitive, stable and transparent oil market and challenged the marketers to work with the government to ensure regular supply and convenient access to fuel products across the country at the lowest possible price.”
The President during his inaugural speech on 29 May at the Eagle Square in Abuja announced the removal of subsidy payment on petrol.
He said that the immediate past administration of Muhammadu Buhari did not make provisions for subsidy in the 2023 budget beyond June.
