Kanye West is back on Twitter after his account was locked following a series of antisemitic posts.
The US rapper was blocked from Twitter in October, just after he was locked out of his Instagram account.
West, also known as “Ye” took to twitter on Sunday, 10 October saying: “I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE”.
“The funny thing is I actually can’t be anti-Semitic because black people are actually Jew also.
“You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.”
The tweet marked West’s first post on Twitter since November 2020, just after the last US presidential election.
Elon Musk, who was in the process of buying the social media network, greeted West back to the site before the ban saying: “Welcome back to Twitter, my friend!”
On 20 November, 2022, Sunday night, Ye posted a tweet to see if his account was working. “Testing Testing Seeing if my Twitter is unblocked,” he wrote.
The rapper has repeatedly denied that his comments were racist, including saying that he doesn’t believe in the term “anti-semitism” because it’s “not factual”.
However, he later offered some sort of apology in an interview with Piers Morgan, saying: “I’m sorry for the people that I hurt with the ‘death con’… I feel like I caused hurt and confusion”.
