Popular Nigerian internet sensation, Ramon Abbas, aka Hushpuppi. has bagged an 11-year jail term by the United States Central District Court in California.
The Socialite who is being charged with fraud and money laundering will, however, spend only nine years in prison as he has already spent two years in the US prison.
Ramon was arrested sometime in June 2020 in Dubai over an elaborate fraud scheme that had victims in Qatar, United States, The UK, among other places.
The ‘Gucci’ Ambassador was immediately transported to America where he was charged with fraud and money laundering. After pleading guilty to conspiracy and engaging in money laundering with multiple people within and outside the US to ladder the proceedings, he was remanded.
He has now bagged 11 years in prison after his appeal to US Judge Otis Wright, to temper justice with mercy and a lighter jail term, after scoring high in cleaning activities while in prison.
