ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Enugu State Ministry of Water Resources has emphasizes the necessity for water tanker owners and drivers to color-coat their tankers by April to enhance public health safety and proper water distribution.
In line with the state’s Water Sector Law, 2023, the deadline for compliance is April 30, 2024, with enforcement beginning on May 1, 2024.
Ministry of Water Resources hereby reiterates its earlier directive to water tanker owners and drivers to colour-coat their tankers, as directed.Â

The warning was contained in a statement signed by Honourable Commissioner for Water Resources, Dr. Felix Nnamani.
The statement reads, “sky-blue colour for drinking water, with ‘Drinking Water Supply’ boldly written on it, on both sides and the back.
“Yellow colour for industrial water tankers with. ‘Industrial Water Supply’ boldly written on it, on both sides and the back.”Â
However, according to the minister, “the extended six months window provided by the Enugu State Water Sector Law, 2023, which became effective last November elapses at the end of April 2024, while enforcement commences on May 1, 2024.
