LAGOS,Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Former US President Donald Trump and Polish President Andrzej Duda have engaged in discussions regarding the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East during a dinner at Trump Tower in New York.
The meeting also revolved around Duda’s proposal for NATO countries to increase defense spending to three percent of GDP.
Trump, taking a break from his hush money criminal trial, hosted Duda, emphasizing their friendship and praising Duda’s performance as president.
“He’s done a fantastic job and he’s my friend, and we had four great years together” when the two were president at the same time, Trump said, standing alongside Duda in a video clip posted on Trump’s Truth Social account.

“We may have to do it again.”
The Trump campaign stated that the leaders addressed various topics related to achieving global peace, including the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the situation in the Middle East.
In recent times, Trump has been engaging in informal diplomacy with international leaders, while simultaneously criticizing the foreign policies of his opponent, President Joe Biden.
He has held discussions about NATO policy and the Ukraine war with British Foreign Secretary David Cameron and welcomed Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.
During Trump’s presidency, Duda and Trump enjoyed a close alliance, with Poland prioritizing its relationship with the United States, even at the expense of its ties with the European Union.

It is worth mentioning that Duda took over a month to congratulate Biden on his victory in the 2020 presidential election, as Trump continued to dispute the election results.
