LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – A former US-based business Enthusiast, Mayodele David is leading the charge to break two world records with a business pitch marathon.
David, through his latest initiative, Crocs Lake adapted from Crocodile’s Lake has informed Nigerians that his forthcoming business pitch marathon will not only break the world record for the same, it will also beat the record for most funds raised via livestream.
During a media briefing in Lagos, he explained that the attempt, when it succeeds, will be to the credit of every Nigerian involved, and not his personal record.
As of today, the longest business pitch marathon according to Guinness World Records is by Networker club LLC Skopje for 30:02 hours in the Republic of North Macedonia in May, 2022.
Also, the most money raised by a live stream fundraiser is $11,972,930.19 and was achieved by Z Event 2021 in Montpellier, France, from 29 to 31 October 2021.
According to David, the resources and expertise garnered at the Guinness World Records event scheduled for October 2024, will help Nigerian entrepreneurs thrive in their businesses.

He revealed that his goal for the longest business pitch marathon was three days while his target at the fundraising event is $15,000,000.
He said: “The forthcoming event – Crocslake Business Pitch Marathon is both a crowdfunding platform and a business pitch environment where we attempt to break the Guinness World Records in Sanusi Fafunwa, Lagos by October, 2024.
“The funding would be channelled to Nigerian businesses across many sectors such as technology, agriculture to government parastatal and also Non-governmental Organisations.
“We are getting support from venture capitalists locally and internationally and our focus is on businesses that are solving community based specific problems.
“We had applied to the Guinness World Records since March 2023, and have gotten approval and now we are in the planning stages of the event.

“The event is opened for business owners to present their pitches in the three day event upon which they would be verified if successful for funding to enable these entrepreneurs actualise their visions and dreams”.
Another member of the organising team, Grace Anuforo noted that the goal of both record breaking events was to serve as that opportunity that would meet the needs of young Nigerian entrepreneurs and their businesses.
“We believe this is going to be a big way for entrepreneurs to achieve what needs to be achieved,” she said.
