LAGOS,Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) –Nollywood actress, Ibinabo Fiberesima has urged the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) to prioritize actors’ safety in the wake of the tragic death of actor Junior Pope and crew members.
Fiberesima, who served as AGN president for two terms, emphasized the need for effective safety measures rather than mere suspension of shoots in riverine areas.

During her tenure, she focused on actors’ health insurance, care for veterans, and secured government support.
Fiberesima condemned the AGN’s decision to ban shooting in riverine areas as mediocre.
“Dear AGN, I would have expected a memo emphasising safety measures during filming instead of suspending shoots in riverine areas. This decision seems mediocre, we must prioritise the safety of our actors over bloated egos,” she wrote.
