ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Enugu State Command Police Operatives have arrested two male suspects involved in the theft of electrical wiring and installation items from various building construction sites.
An operation, conducted on April 6, 2024, led to the apprehension of Sunday Ogbodo, aged 38, of Akpugo in Nkanu West Local Government Area.
This was made known In a press release issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Enugu State Command, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, on Wednesday night.
A significant quantity of stolen electrical materials, including distribution boxes, cable rolls, and LED bulbs, valued at ₦1,500,000.00, were recovered from Ogbodo.

Subsequent interrogation revealed his involvement in multiple thefts across Independence Layout and other areas of Enugu metropolis, utilising his Peugeot 406 vehicle, which was also seized.
Ogbodo’s confession facilitated the arrest of his accomplice and main receiver of stolen goods, Ogbonna Collins Maduabuchi, aged 40, of Amechi-Uwani Awkunanaw, Enugu South Local Government Area, on April 9, 2024.
Maduabuchi admitted to his role in the criminal enterprise.
The police revealed that efforts are underway to apprehend other associates involved in these illicit activities, and upon completion of investigations, the suspects will face prosecution.
