LAGOS,Nigeria ( VOICE OF NAIJA) – Abductors of two students from the Federal University Wukari in Taraba State have demanded a ransom of N50 million for their release.
This information was disclosed by the Head of Information and Protocol Unit at the institution, Mrs. Ashu Agbu, during a telephone conversation with journalists on Sunday.
“The abductors revealed that they came for the owner of the eatery and not his staff and will return to get him.

“They are demanding a ransom of N50m to free the two students. Since the incident, security agencies and youths of the area are combing the surrounding forests and bush paths to apprehend the kidnappers and will not relent until the students are rescued alive and safe,” she said.
Agbu suggested that an extensive meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 8, involving security agencies, as well as local, state, and federal government representatives. The aim is to devise a lasting solution to address the prevailing insecurity issues affecting the institution.

According to the PUNCH correspondent, approximately 90 percent of the institution’s students and staff reside off-campus.
The students were abducted on Wednesday, April 3, around 10:00 PM, while at a shop near the bustling area commonly frequented by students residing off-campus.
