OGUN, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has expelled five students for alleged examination malpractices and hostel racketeering.
The institution also rusticated 14 others for other misconduct.
In a statement, UNILORIN Director of Corporate Affairs, Kunle Akogun, said the approval for the expulsion of the affected students by the Vice Chancellor, Wahab Egbewole (SAN), was sequel to the recommendations of the Studentsā Disciplinary Committee at its 220th/221st meeting

The statement reads: “The affected students were penalised for offences ranging from misconduct to theft, examination malpractices, hostel bed-space racketeering and extortion, beating a fellow student, admission racketeering, extortion and assault
“The penalties for the offences committed by the students included rustication for either one semester or one academic session, including expulsion
The affected students were in various academic levels such as 100, 200, 300 and 400.”
