LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – The National Executive Council (NEC) of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) Nigeria has sympathised with the state government, school management, and families of those affected by the abduction of students and staff from LGEA Primary School, Kuriga village, Chikun LGA, Kaduna State.
Over 232 students and teachers were reportedly kidnapped by suspected terrorists on Friday.
The NAPPS spoke via a statement signed by the National President and National Secretary, Yomi Otubela and Augustine Ajibade respectively.
The statement read in part: “Our thoughts are with the families enduring this unimaginable pain and the entire school community grappling with the aftermath of this tragic event.

“We stand united in urging the federal government of Nigeria to take immediate and decisive action to secure the swift release of the abducted individuals.
“It is imperative that all necessary measures are implemented to ensure the safety and well-being of the innocent lives in jeopardy.”
They called on the government to intensify security measures around schools nationwide saying the safety of children and educators should be of paramount concern, and steps must be taken to prevent such traumatic incidents from occurring in the future.

“In this challenging time, we extend our solidarity and support to the affected families, the school management, and the entire community.
“We further pray that strength and resilience prevail as we collectively strive for a swift resolution and a safer future for our educational institutions,” it stated.
