LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-The Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has instructed security agencies to thoroughly investigate and apprehend political thugs causing unrest in the state.
The thugs have been accused of vandalizing billboards of state governorship aspirants and assaulting members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, during President Bola Tinubu’s recent visit to the state.
President Tinubu visited late former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s family, Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye, and the national leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-political organization, Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti.

Following the visit, both the Olusola Oke Campaign Organisation and Wale Akinterinwa Campaign Organisation accused supporters of Governor Aiyedatiwa of destroying their posters and billboards.
Governor Aiyedatiwa, while condemning the reported actions, denied any involvement and instructed security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators. Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ebenezer Adeniyan, emphasized the governor’s stance against any political campaign that disrupts peace in the state, affirming that those found guilty would face decisive action by law enforcement agencies.
Adeniyan also clarified that neither the governor nor the state government were associated with the reported activities attributed to “political thugs” during President Tinubu’s visit to Owo and Akure.
