ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- A wave of unrest has engulfed Araromi Ilogbo Secondary School in Oko Afo, Lagos, following the alleged tragic demise of a student who was reportedly flogged to death by a teacher.
The incident unfolded on Thursday, 25 January, 2024, when the teacher identified as Oluwale allegedly attacked the student for inattentiveness during the class session.
Shockingly, the student, already unwell, was rushed to the hospital where medical authorities confirmed the unfortunate loss of life.

Expressing dismay over the incident, @JoyOmoijate22 remarked, “Omo, this isn’t good at all. The sad thing is, no matter how much punishment the teacher gets, it won’t bring the student back 😢. As a teacher, you have to be patient very much. They’ll push you hard at times, but you have to be calm.”
In response to @JoyOmoijate22 statement, @liadaksy questioned, “Push you hard, as a teacher, didn’t you read that the child was sick???? who pays attention when they are sick?!?”
@taiwoabkuchi reflected, “One of the dangers of being a teacher is that the teacher might not know the student’s state of health, and it’s a normal thing to react when the student didn’t pay attention.”
Adding a local perspective, @habeebsulaimon9 shared, “I live at Oko Afo, and I confirm to you that the man who beat the girl to death has always been very harsh towards children, and he is meant to have his send-off today.”
