ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Enugu State Police Command has successful raided a criminal hideout in the Centenary City area of Obeagu-Awkunanaw community, Enugu, as part of its decisive move towards maintaining proactive and forward-looking policing goals in 2024.
The raid, conducted on Friday, 19 January, 2024, following credible information from the Enugu State Capital Territory Development Authority (ECTDA), resulted in the arrest of three male suspects.
The Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, released this information in a press release, on Saturday, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in ensuring a safer environment.
The arrested individuals were identified as Emmanuel Nwabundo (39), hailing from Abia State, Emmanuel Eze (35), and Anthony Onoche George (30), both from Anambra State.

The operation, led by police operatives serving in the Enugu Area Command, saw the recovery of eight pump-action guns, four live and twenty-six expended cartridges, a machete, four solar-powered CCTV cameras, thirteen assorted phones, a DVD player, four bags of clothes suspected to be stolen, and objects believed to be charms.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the criminal elements and their accomplices have been using the location as a hub for planning and executing various criminal activities, including armed robbery and kidnapping, within Enugu metropolis and its environs.
Once investigations are concluded, the suspects, now in custody, will be arraigned in court.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, commended the operatives for their success in the operation.
He reiterated the commitment of the Enugu State Police Command to proactively combat crime and eliminate unrepentant criminals from the state.
CP Kanayo urged the public to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and collaborate with the police by providing credible and actionable security information.
