ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- President Bola Tinubu has initiated a comprehensive investigation into the reported misappropriation of N585 million within the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, led by Betta Edu.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, issued a statement titled ‘Addressing Concerns on Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs Payments’ on Sunday, assuring Nigerians of the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability.
The inquiry follows criticism of Edu, triggered by a leaked memo on 20 December, indicating the transfer of funds to a private account.
The government aims to verify the accuracy and validity of the reported details, emphasizing its dedication to the effective and efficient utilization of public funds.
