ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Senator Chris Ngige, the immediate past Minister of Labour and Employment, has staunchly defended the All Progressives Congress (APC) government under former President Muhammadu Buhari, refuting claims of its failure.
Ngige, who was part of the administration, emphasized witnessing various projects undertaken by the government.
In an interview on Saturday in Alor, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, where he distributed palliatives to residents, Ngige pointed out key accomplishments, including the completion of the Second Niger Bridge, school feeding programs, and developments at the Enugu Airport.
Responding to questions about the state of the APC in Anambra, Ngige asserted the authenticity of his faction and denied any crisis within the party.
He acknowledged the presence of new members but highlighted existing divisions between them and the old members who had been with the party through its different phases.

Ngige, when asked about the upcoming 2025 governorship race in Anambra, expressed optimism about the APC’s chances, stating, “I am optimistic that APC will take over in Anambra come 2025.”
He acknowledged disagreements within the party during the 2021 elections but expressed confidence in addressing issues and strengthening the party by 2025.
Addressing his future plans, Ngige who is currently on sabbatical leave, promised to decide and publicize his next course of action by the end of May this year.
He also pledged continued distribution of food items to citizens, emphasizing the impact of factors like banditry and flooding on the farming season, leading to increased hunger among the population.
Ngige concluded, “I am still on sabbatical leave, resting, and by the end of May this year when I would have rested for one year, I will decide and publicize my next line of action.”
He highlighted the three categories of people benefiting from the food distribution – APC members, individuals with disabilities, and the elderly across the 21 Local Government Areas of Anambra State.
