LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) Nigeria’s Super Falcons secured a convincing 4-0 win over Ethiopia in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games second round qualifiers on October 31 in Abuja.

With two goals by Rasheedat Ajibade, as well as goals from Uchenna Kanu and Asisat Oshoala, the Falcons reached the third round with an aggregate score of 5-1, following a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Addis Ababa.

After a solid defensive first half, the Falcons broke the deadlock in added time with Kanu making a remarkable run inside the box to score.

In the 50th minute, Ajibade extended the lead to 2-0, capitalizing on Oshoala’s low cross from the right.

Oshoala herself added the third goal with a splendid header off Kanu’s cross in the 68th minute.

To seal the victory, Oshoala provided her second assist as Ajibade netted her second goal in the 72nd minute, making it 4-0.

The Super Falcons will now face the winner of the match between Uganda and Cameroon in the third round, marking their return to Olympic competition for the first time since Beijing 2008.
