LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- A 75-year-old man, Daniel Jaja, who has suffered a serious injury has been arrested for allegedly attempting to rape a 25-year-old woman (name withheld) in Adamawa State.
According to the Police, the rape victim was armed with a razor blade which she used to cut Jaja’s private parts after he overpowered her and was about to commit the act.
The incident reportedly occurred on 18 October, at Mukuvinyi village in the Hong Local Government Area of the State.
The spokesperson for the State Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje in a statement earlier today, said the 75-year old rapist had been arrested.

He said, “Adamawa State Police Command on 30 October, 2023 apprehended a 75years old man for attempting to rape a 25years old who visited him in Mukuvinyi Village, Hong Local Government Area.
“The suspect, one Daniel Jaja, 75years old on 18 October, 2023 in Mukuvinyi village, Hong LGA, was said to have invited his victim to his house and suddenly advanced forcefully to have unlawful carnal knowledge of her but she resisted.
“Investigation, so far reveals that the victim while trying to prevent the act used a razor blade and cut the erect penis from penetrating her, leaving him with serious injury now on admission in hospital receiving treatment.
“The Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola, who frowns at the ugly incident has directed the officer in charge of Family Support Unit of the command to take over investigation and ensure diligent prosecution.
“The Police equally calls on members of the public, particularly those in villages to give timely information to the Police, especially against criminally minded elements who are in the habit of committing gender-based crimes.”
