Alafuro Peterside, a father if three who was killed by a policeman at a popular bar along Stadium Road in Port Harcourt has been buried at a private cemetery in the State capital on Friday.
A burial reception for the late Peterside was held at the Port Harcourt Club after families, friends and sympathisers paid their last respects.
The Punch correspondent recalled that the murder of the 42-year-old Peterside in the presence of his wife and children in early August this year had sparked a public outcry with different groups including the Ijaw Youths Congress calling for justice.
Also, the Chairman of the Rivers State Civil Society Organisation, Enefaa Geirgewill, while condemning the incident urged the police to carry out a thorough investigation and not to sweep the matter under the carpet.

Georgewill had also called on the Police to name the alleged killer cop and make him face the law.
The police officer who shot the late Peterside had yet to be named by the Rivers State Police Command, but the Commissioner of Police said the suspect has been charged in court.
Speaking at the funeral, the younger sister of the deceased, Josephine, called for speedy justice in the ongoing trial.
She stated, “It is shocking that my brother was taken by a trigger-happy police officer.
“I am calling on the government and the police to give us justice because this soul won’t just go like that.
“You can see his kids are young. The wife is young. It’s painful and nobody. That is why we are asking the government to give us justice.”
