LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Nigerian businessman and philanthropist, Femi Otedola, has gifted one million naira each to 750 students after being inaugurated as the Chancellor of Augustine University, Ilara-Epe, Lagos State.
The businessman, who made the disclosure via his verified X page, also said he donated N1m each to 750 students of the University in view of the current harsh economic realities.
The N750 million scholarship donation, according to Mr. Otedola, is in commemoration of his appointment as the Chancellor of the university and “in recognition of the harsh economic situation” in Nigeria.

Mr. Otedola is also the Director of FBN Holdings PLC and Chair of Geregu Power PLC,
The post read: ”Today, I was inaugurated as the Chancellor of Augustine University. I strongly believe in transforming establishments that I am associated with.
“I gave a gift of One Million to each of the Seven Hundred and Fifty Students. I hope this donation of Seven Hundred and Fifty Million Naira assists the plight of the parents of our students in this difficult time.”
Reacting to this development, some users have expressed shock over the disclosure as others showed admiration and gratitude for the gesture.
