ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- There is tensions within the nation’s Senate deepened on Tuesday as Senator Ali Ndume, serving as Chief Whip, made a heated exit during a session.
In an attempt to prevent further escalation of the situation, Senate President Godswill Akpabio abruptly called for an emergency closed-door meeting.
Senator Ndume had cited order 54 of the Senate Rule Book to highlight concerns regarding the management of affairs within the chambers, claiming that certain actions were in violation of established rules.

He said, “Mr. President, there are some things we do in this chamber that are against the rules. Sir, nobody is too big to learn.”
Without allowing Ndume to complete his remarks, Akpabio promptly ruled him out of order, leaving the Chief Whip visibly agitated.
Subsequently, Ndume exited the chamber and retreated to his office.
Shortly afterward, Senator Ndume received a call from a colleague, urging him to return to the chamber for an executive session.
As of the time this report was filed, the executive session was still in progress, as the Senate sought to address the unfolding crisis.
