LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny has embarked on a unique venture by starting his own football club, Elneny FC, with the long-term goal of reaching the Premier League.
Despite being focused on his professional playing career at Arsenal, the 31-year-old has begun building his club from scratch and is recruiting players through trials.
Elneny envisions Elneny FC playing friendlies for the next year before entering the football pyramid, with a determined objective to eventually reach the Premier League.

He’s well aware that this ambitious goal may take many years to achieve but remains enthusiastic and motivated to chase his dreams.
Elneny signed a contract extension with Arsenal in February 2023 and has a clear commitment to the club, as he expressed his deep affection for the team and a desire to finish his career there.
Elneny follows in the footsteps of figures like Ryan Reynolds and Tom Brady, who have ventured into club ownership with hopes of promotion to the Premier League.
