Enugu: CP Uzuegbu Unveils Crime Crackdown With 92 Arrests, Recoveries Of Exhibit

ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Enugu State Commissioner of Police CP Kanayo Uzuegbu has presented a series of remarkable achievements, including the arrest of 92 suspects, the rescue of kidnapped victims, and the recovery of a substantial cache of firearms, ammunition, and other exhibits.

He stated this in press briefing held on Tuesday, 26 September, 2023, at the State Headquarters in Enugu.

The CP said these actions represent a significant step in the fight against crime and the promotion of safety in Enugu State.

CP Uzuegbu outlined various cases, including foiled kidnapping attempts, the neutralization of criminal hideouts, and arrests related to armed robbery and unlawful possession of firearms.

He said these efforts have contributed to a noticeable improvement in the security situation in the state.

During the briefing, the Commissioner of Police also emphasized the commitment of the police force to maintaining peace and order in the state, reassuring the public that Enugu remains a safe haven for residents and visitors alike.

He called on potential criminals to rethink their actions and urged parents, traditional rulers, and religious leaders to play a role in promoting good behavior among the youth.

CP Uzuegbu thanked the Governor of Enugu State, Peter Ndubuisi Mba, for his support and collaboration in enhancing the capabilities of the police force.

He also expressed appreciation for the Inspector-General of Police’s guidance and the cooperation of security stakeholders and law-abiding citizens.

In his closing remarks, CP Uzuegbu encouraged the media to continue reporting objectively and accurately, emphasizing the importance of responsible journalism in maintaining peace and order. He commended the dedication of officers and urged them to uphold professionalism and ethics in their duties.

The Commissioner of Police’s briefing showcased the significant strides made in curbing criminal activities in Enugu State and highlighted the ongoing commitment to ensuring safety and security for all residents and visitors.
