LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF Naja) YouTube has introduced a range of new artificial intelligence-driven tools aimed at simplifying content creation for creators and expanding their reach on the platform.
The goal is to streamline content creation and encourage creative expression while reducing the time and cost associated with it.
One of these tools is called “Dream Screen,” a gen-AI feature designed specifically for YouTube Shorts.
Dream Screen enables creators to incorporate AI-generated images or video backgrounds into their vertical videos, offering endless creative possibilities.
YouTube plans to gradually introduce Dream Screen to select creators before a broader rollout next year.

In a bid to foster creativity, YouTube has also launched “YouTube Studio,” an AI-powered tool that leverages generative AI to generate video ideas and outline drafts, aiding creators in brainstorming.
These insights will be personalized for each channel, drawing inspiration from what audiences are already watching on YouTube.
According to YouTube, more than 70% of creators surveyed found AI-powered tools in YouTube Studio helpful for developing and testing video ideas.
Additionally, YouTube is making it easier for creators to find suitable soundtracks for their videos by introducing assistive search in Creator Music.
Similar to TikTok, users can describe their content, and AI will suggest appropriate music options.
Furthermore, YouTube is helping creators expand their audience by offering an option called “Aloud,” which enables creators to dub their content into multiple languages, making it accessible to a global audience.
YouTube’s focus on “Shorts” has grown since the discontinuation of its “Stories” feature earlier this year.
Shorts has proven to be a valuable alternative, fostering audience connections and facilitating meaningful conversations.
The “Stories” feature, originally introduced as “Reels” in 2017, was initially limited to users with over 10,000 subscribers.
However, it failed to gain the same level of traction as Instagram and Snapchat Stories due to its limited accessibility.
As YouTube continues to evolve its platform and tools, it aims to empower content creators and enhance the overall user experience.
