LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Some Police operatives in Plateau State have allegedly beaten up a married couple, as well as detained them alongside their eight-month-old baby over their refusal to give N200 bribe in Jos, the State Capital.
A Nigerian user on X, identified as Ijeoma, who disclosed the development, said the man, Kcey Sirocco Jeh and his wife were allegedly beaten by Policemen attached to Bukuru police station, B Division.
The post, alongside photographs and a video of the victims, reads “A family friend was taking his eight months old son to the hospital, and @PoliceNG in Jos stopped them on the way demanding for N200, when they refused to give the Policemen. They brutalised him and his wife and took all of them to their station including the kid.”

“Look at the men of Bukuru police Station from B division that brutalised his family. The DPO forced him to tender an apology on Facebook before he could be released on bail because of N200,” the post added.
The State Command’s Spokesman, Alfred Alabo, is yet to confirm the development, as all efforts to get across to him proved abortive, as at the time of filing this report.
In another development, the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, Abuja, has begun disciplinary actions for some Police officers attached to the Kwara State Police Command, who were captured in a viral video, hitting a young man with their guns.
Voiceofnaija.ng had earlier reported that the spokesperson of the Force, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a statement on X platform, noted that the perpetrators had reported at the Force Headquarters in Abuja and would face disciplinary actions.
