(VOICE OF NAIJA) – A petition has been launched against Nigeria singer and Marlian record label Boss, Naira Marley, following a viral video where former signee Mohbad was been assaulted before his death surfaced online.
The petition to ban his music label, Marlian has now hit 53,027 signatures.
Reacting to it, a netizen said, Twxyt wrote, “Haaaa Omo 9ja dey play oooo, once they LOVE YOU!!! They can go any length for you.”
One Omo Ola Omo Oye wrote, “The culture of ENTITLEMENT is backfiring. An employer has the right to HIRE & FIRE. It is a business, not sentimental.”
Unique Stellp wrote, “I really wished all these petitions actually worked but it doesn’t. I know how many I signed after the election. Oh well, we all saw how that played.”

Recall that many were left angered by a video of Mohbad being harassed by Naira Marley’s aide, Sam Larry.

In the video, Mohbad was shooting a music video with Zlatan in a wheelchair when Sam Larry stormed the location carrying a matchet and other weapons.
Following the viral video, many stormed his Instagram page, demanding an explanation for the brutality.
This led Larry to at first, restrict his comment section, then later deactivate his page.
Netizens didn’t spare Naira Marley, as they called for his songs to be banned on music platforms.
Mohbad was signed to Naira Marley’s” Marlian Records” and left the label in 2022.
In an Instagram live session, after his release from NDLEA’s camp, Mohbad had alleged that Naira Marley and other members of the group were after his life.
He expressed his belief that Naira Marley and Marlian music would play a role in his demise, as he told his fans to hold the label boss accountable for his death.
The singer and rapper had also posted clips of an alleged assault he suffered at the hands of Naira Marley’s Crew after he requested to change his manager.
However, Naira Marley, responded to his accusation, by saying that he was lying as he spilled teas about him.
Countering him, Mohbad expressed hope that justice would be served someday.
Even his friend and colleague, Bella Shmurda confirmed in an interview that Naira Marley was threatening his life.
Iyabo Ojo’s lover and show promoter, Paulo Okoye also revealed that the singer had opened up to him about his fears, harassment, and depression.
