LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- A Nigerian man, Julius Bokuru, has taken to social media to advise men on the risk of relocating to the U.S, UK, Canada, Australia, France, and Holland with their wives

The public figure from Bayelsa State, via his Facebook handle, gave the advice because these countries “give women too much power.”

Over time, there have been several debates by Nigerians, especially on social media, on whether it is ideal for a man to leave the country (Japa) with his spouse and if all Nigerian women abroad go off with another lover.

Several reports about Nigerian women leaving their husbands when they get to other countries, and women laying false accusations against their husbands to foreign governments, have made rounds on the internet.

A similar story was shared on Twitter, now X, by a user, @Wizarab, who noted that it involved a friend and his wife.

According to him, the woman left her husband’s house and started having affairs with other men after moving abroad together.

He added that the wife who followed her husband as a dependent abandoned her home after staying for just two months.

“This man is telling me how the wife he brought as dependent this May stayed in his house for less than 2 months and moved out. He claimed she was sleeping with neighbours and following Nigerian and white men.

“He is tired of the marriage already. I’m just nodding my head because I know both of them. Omo, I don tire, I don’t know what to say.

“Good luck to them. He has told her to go and do what she likes and what makes her happy since she doesn’t want him anymore,” the tweet read in part.
